Graduation party!

I've been too lazy to blog lately, and I apologize for that. That's pretty sad isn't it? When you're feeling too lazy to sit in front of a computer in a comfy chair and just type some silly, whimsical stuff on a fun website? Well, sad as it may be, it's true. But I'm back!
Since I last blogged, I had my graduation party. So I'm gonna tell about that. Yep. :)

It was on Saturday, June 18th. We sent out about 200 invitations and, in all, I bet there were maybe 150 people there? I dunno. It was a lot. That's just a guess. But there were lotsa people. We had the tables decorated with blue tablecloths and we had music note and graduation hat confetti to sprinkle atop the tables. Then we had these neat little picture box things to set on the tables for people to look at and say, "Awww, she's so cute." I never witnessed such a comment, but I'm sure it was said many times. ;)
I got up at 6:30 that morning. Yeah. Gross. But, I showered and got all dressed up in my pretty dress and did my hair and make-up and stuff, then we went to my church at 8:00 AM to finish setting stuff up, making the food, and for me to practice my recital. Incase you didn't know already, I held my Sr. Recital the same day as my party. So the recital started at 11:00, and the food followed. Then the party at our house with the bouncy castle came at 4:00. For my recital, I had three of my students play a song and they all did very well. They were so cute :) Then I played nine songs. I played:
Arabesque #1
Cannon in D Major
Nocturne in G Minor, Op., 37 No. 1
The Medallion Calls
Sonata Facile, 1st. Mvtmt.
Sonata in C Majoy, 1st Mvtmt.
Venetian Boat Song
Traumerei
and Nocturne in E Flat Major.
It all went over very well, and I played acceptably. And I was met by a standing ovation :) Which is a good confidence booster. I wasn't really terribly nervous while I was playing my recital. I was more nervous when I had to address the crowd with your usual, "Thanks for coming, I really appreciate it," blah blah blah. But, I got through it, and then the recital was over! Whew. That was the most stressful part of the day. Then immediately following, I went out into the fellowship hall and got bombarded by "Good job!"s and "That was so great!"s. Then when I was finally able to, I got in the food line and had some of my mom's delicious food. I continued talking to people, small talk and how are you's and all that stuff. Then eventually everybody left and we started packing everything up, cleaning up the church, putting things away, and heading back to my house for the "after party". Of course, loading everything into the cars to go home was no fun at all, but it went faster with all of my friends helping. <3
Anyways, we went back to my house, and the guys from the store came in their little truck and set up the bouncy house and dropped off the cotton candy machine. Yummy :) More people continued to file in. Actually, people continued to file in until about 10 or 11 that night. I saw lots of people that I haven't seen in a long time, and it was nice to see them. :) The party all went over well. I had a blast and I talked to most of the people there, although looking back there are select few people that I didn't talk to as much as I would have liked. Oh well, though. It's all in the past :p
For those of you who aren't well acquainted with me, when I get to a certain extent in my fatigue, I become very unpleasant and grumpy and I shut down socially. That is when it is time for me to go to bed ASAP, before I bite someone and give them rabies. I got that way around midnight that night, which is understandable. I had been doing prep work for the party for weeks prior to the actual party, and the night before I had been up late with friends, and that morning I got up at 6:30, so I think I did pretty well. I'm surprised I made it to midnight.. xP.
After I hit my grouchy state, I went outside and said goodnight to the remaining party-goers and I went to bed, which, my friends following suit, did also. I fell asleep, but it didn't last as long as I would have liked, since I had to go to church the next morning. Which I wasn't too thrilled about, and possibly didn't have the proper attitude one should have while going to church on a Sunday morning.... But that's alright, I got through it and God didn't smite me in my ungrateful state. :) He is so good. :p
The next day, I opened all my cards and counted all the money, I also opened my gifts. I ended up with a hefty sum of money, which I am quite pleased with and so thankful for, and gifts of: a quesadilla maker, a $100 gift card to Ikea, a $25 Wal Mart giftcard (which I used some of yesterday to buy quesadilla supplies :p), a jewelry box, a CD, some earrings, and some very delicious smelling perfume from Bath and Body. :)
Directly following the opening of all of these things, I began writing thank-you notes, which I did for three days straight. I finally finished and got them all sent out! As more cards come in the mail, I write the thank-you note immediately, shut it up in an envelope, address it, stamp it, and put it back in the mailbox. :P
